Khatri Abdulrazak Mohmed was born in 1958 in Dhamadka, a small village in Taluka Anjar, Kutch district, Gujarat, India. He comes from a family of traditional hand block printers specializing in Ajrakh (also known as Azaruq). His father, Shri Mohmed Sidik Khatri, a renowned Ajrakh revivalist and national award winner in 1981 and Vishvakarma awardee in 1983, taught and trained Abdulrazak in the art of Ajrakh block printing.
Shri Abdulrazak Khatri completed his primary education up to the 7th standard in Gujarati and became an expert hand block designer and printer by the age of 16. For the past 48 years, he has been dedicated to producing fine block-printed fabrics with numerous variations in colors and shades, experimenting with various natural dyes. His current focus is on technical advancements in the process, reviving old designs by creating new blocks, and popularizing them in the modern market, while also developing contemporary block designs.
He plays a key role in administration, marketing, and customer support services. He is fluent in Kachchhi, Gujarati, Hindi, and has a working knowledge of English.
